Bobby Morrison, founder and CEO of HygeiaSleep, is a Scottish entrepreneur on a mission to redefine global sleep hygiene standards. Following the Paris bed bug pandemic of 2023, Morrison recognized a global blind spot in hospitality hygiene — mattresses were almost never cleaned or certified for safety.

A Scottish Entrepreneur with Global Ambition
Before founding HygeiaSleep, Bobby Morrison had already made his mark as a serial entrepreneur and brand builder. In 2008, he launched Breo Watches, a bold lifestyle brand that went on to sell over five million watches in more than forty countries. The company’s success led to international offices, including operations in Hong Kong, and partnerships across global travel retail.
In 2014, he founded Kartel Watches, a modern Scottish watch brand rooted in craftsmanship, heritage, and experience. With flagship stores in St Andrews, Edinburgh, and London, Kartel brought customers closer to the watchmaking process through its signature Watch-Building Experience — an idea that embodied Morrison’s belief in storytelling, design, and emotional connection.
These early ventures gave him a deep understanding of global business, consumer psychology, and brand trust — the same principles that would later define HygeiaSleep.
The Spark: The Paris Bed Bug Pandemic
The turning point came in 2023. During Paris Fashion Week, Bobby’s wife, Steph, returned from a five-star hotel covered in bed bug bites — an experience that exposed a much larger issue. Despite the luxury, the hotel had no mattress hygiene policy, no certification, and no real accountability for what guests were sleeping on.
Bobby’s response wasn’t anger — it was action.
He began researching global mattress hygiene standards, only to find there were none. Mattresses were being reused for years, even decades, with only surface cleaning between guests. The realization was shocking — and it became the catalyst for what would become HygeiaSleep.

From Idea to Global Authority
HygeiaSleep began as a simple idea: to help hotels maintain truly clean mattresses. Its early success came with the creation of the HS-700, a commercial sanitization system using ultrasonic vibration, heat, and UV-C light to remove bacteria, allergens, and pathogens from deep inside the mattress.
But Bobby’s vision went far beyond a product. He saw the opportunity to create a global certification standard that would measure and validate hygiene across the hospitality industry.

In 2024, Bobby met with officials at the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva, discussing the growing global rise in bed bugs and advocating for hygiene certification across the hospitality sector.
The same year, HygeiaSleep established HygeiaSleep Hospitality Services LLC in Dubai, spearheading regional growth and training programs for hotels in partnership with leading hospitality brands like Marriott, Anantara, Kerzner International, and Six Senses.
